I just bought a 1990 with 13K on it for $500. I think that it's over priced, of course its possible that I just got a really good deal on mine.
If your bike isn't falling apart, you did get a really good deal! 8)

Shipping a bike is usually in the $500 range plus crating costs. If you are looking for something like a mid 90's GS500 - try to find one closer to home.

I bought a used bike in Columbus, OH - a three hour drive from home. It was cheap to rent a pickup, drive up there and pick it up.

That price wouldn't be bad.... if it was local. It isn't worth shipping it. Have you checked cycletrader.com yet? I've been looking through it to get an idea what I can buy once I recover from my accident. I've seen GS500's for $1500-2400 in that age range. Many close to what you found. Add shipping and it gets too pricey.

I went all through the bike. It needed fork seals and the front sprocket is starting to show wear. The rear tire has 2-3K left in it before replacement. I think I did okay. Got my plate today. I get it back from the shop on Friday, ready to roll.
