I have a GSXR600 04 and love the bike but I want to learn more how to maintain my bike. I can do oil, chain, tires, brakes, but I want to be able to do engine tune up. I have not even have a faint Idea how to do it, but defenetely want to learn. The thing is that after the 4000 miles tune up my bike was running superb... for about a month, and then slowly started becomming more like it used to be;OK but slight vibrations, and a bit jurky on and off the trottle./a play in the power train/ I'm already used to the little kick I get after picking the trottle in the middle of the turn, but that's not the point.
So what do I need to be able to perform some engine tune up, or should I give it up and go to the mechanic or ride it as it is.

thanks

Find a good mechanic that will allow you to watch. Then decide if you feel comfortable doing the work.

It's not difficult, and good luck finding a "teaching mechanic". Get yourself a manual, read up on a Gixxer forum and go to it.

I found one! He charges a minimal fee to instruct and oversee the work you do, in his shop, using his tools! Sweet deal!

It also helps to know a few people in the moto industry!
