The spec for idle speed on my '03 VZ800 is 1200 rpm. Is there some particular reason it must be that high? Just doesn't sound right to me when sitting at a light.

I've been told that anything less may do damage as the oil pressure would be too low. I don't think they're supposed to sound anything like a HD. This is second hand from MIG forum so I can't say it's the gospel.

Thanks. I thought it might be something like that. As for sounding like a Harley, I prefer it to sound like it's going to keep running LOL.
