Ran across a guy selling a fully-running 1981 Kawasaki KZ750H (cafe racer) but he didn't start with a price. Kelly Blue Book doesn't seem to go that old, and I don't know of another place to get a blue book value on this type of bike. He posted pics, and it looks good for the most part, but don't want to insult him with a really low offer, or overpay.

its a 30 year old japanese bike if its not in collector condition and not a super rare model. and it runs its worth a grand or so. if it doesnt run its worth a coupla hundred for spare parts. anything more than that is for sentimental reasons.

personally the only bikes i'd touch that old are hondas and harleys. both have a large enough following to easily get parts and help.

Since I have no sentimental attachment to this type of bike, I'll simply pass on it for now, then. I appreciate your prompt feedback!
