Is it just the area I live in or is it like this everywhere? Every time I have been out riding, I get at least one request to pop a wheelie. It always a group of young kids, most of which don't even look old enough to drive.

The first couple days it didnt bother me to much because I thought it was a rare occurance to see people do the old hand jester thing for a wheelie as I'm riding by, but its getting old quick.

Today I had some asses in a riced out civic ride right next to me on the highway doing 70, while the guy in the backseat was hanging out of his window screaming "DO A WHEELIE! DO A WHEELIE! DO A WHEELIE" I was like wtf.....and later on this evening as I was pulling away from a light, I had a groupd of like 8-9 year olds start running next to me on the sidewalk making the same handjesters...

I just do the same thing every time, and shake my head..but its really fricking annoying if you know what I mean.

When I'm out riding, I just want to be left alone...people interaction is not something I desire. I get enough of the drunks/wrecks/wackos during the day in my TowTruck.....

Argh.

It happens to me as well, if it's little kids I don't mind and just wave and maybe rev it a couple of times....I remember being awed by cycles.

If it's anyone over the age of say 10, then I just shake my head and cruise on....I had a carload of 30+yr olds beside me a stoplight pleading for me to wheelie, I lifted my visor and told them how stupid it would be and gently rolled off.

I'm sure everyone realizes that with the team efforts of our country's government and our braindead media, the youth of our country is getting dumber by the second. I only expect this idiotic behavior to become the norm over the years. Sad, but true.

I usually wish I could do a wheelie when people request that. Not that I would do one, it's just a little reminder that I can't. :(

There are worse things in life . . .
have problems getting it up, eh? J/K...I couldn't resist that one! :D :D

Yeah, I think so too.

P.S. Get it up to 8K w/the clutch pulled in, rolling along slowly in 1st gear. Release the clutch, lean over the tank and gas it.

P.P.S.

P.P.S.S. Maybe you had better not . . .

It happens to me all the time and I'm with you Meat. I got this 1K so I know it's not the bike, this is where I open my heart, It's gotta be fear. i get her to 4K pop clutch, bring her up to about 10 O'clock and she comes back down. My friends tell me I'm not getting her up to 11 O'clock so I can find the balance point but for now I just can't seem to give it that extra throttle. bones might not heal so well at my age. So Sometimes I try most times I concentrate on other speed skills. Cornering, getting my knees lower and smoothnes in shifts etc. One day I'll get there i gues :eek:crap:

you should just do a wheely once and make it really small, like you took off too fast or something so they will think its lame and stop that way if you ever see them again they wont say anything.

Really . . .

I can see our 51st President . . . in the motorcade . . . passes an escort on a big Harley . . . rolls down the window . . . and yells, "Hey! Pop a wheelie!"

See, you guys just live in the wrong place. I don't get asked to pop wheelies. 'Course that might be since I'm riding a cruiser and not a gixxer or Katana...

But just about every afternoon I pass the same 2 or 3 boys... about 9 or 10 years old... riding their bikes a few blocks away from my home. They see me coming up the road and race to get to the stop sign a couple of blocks from my last turn. They sit there and wait for me to come to a stop, and then ask.. "Wanna race?"

Hey - at least I give them a head start.

Actually, I always put on my responsible 40 year old 'Daddy' face, remind them of the time I pulled a neighbor's college aged kid off his Ninja (after his 3rd 60mph+ run by my house on a 3 block long street with my kids and assorted animals playing in the yard) and threatened to feed it to him in small pieces if it happened again, and tell them we don't race on the streets in our neighborhood.

We go to someone else's neighborhood.

No wheelie request yet (I have a cruiser), but on my first ride, a bunch of kids on bicycles chanted for a rev.

btw, I saw someone just the other day riding down the hwy on one wheel, with tons of cars behind him. I thought to myself, "cool, but stupid!"

I too receive constant requests for wheelies! Guess it's just part of the life of a Gixxer owner...or maybe just the average StreetBike owner. People just assume that you have super skills if you ride a bike like this.

Think about it, haven't you assumed the same at some point in your early lives?
