I saw this bike that had a lever clamped onto the throttle that uses your wrist as leverage to increase the throttle so that you don't have to constantly grip the throttle. Has anyone ever seen these before or are they a custom job? The guy never showed up to ask him and it looks like it would make life alot easier on the open road. :?:

I Agree!

I wouldn't be without the Throttlerocker or something like it. Slow riding in the mt. or construction zone it really comes in handy.
I agree. ThrottleRocker or Cramp Buster, both work quite well. However, I have both and find I prefer the Cramp Buster for its ease of adjustment. With the Throttle Rocker, I have to stop and park the bike in order to adjust the angle of the paddle. If you set it with too high of an angle you'll find you speed creeping up. Conversly, with the angle is too low, I hyper-extend my right wrist which quickly becomes uncomfortable.

One more caution. Practice with which ever one you chose and carefully set the angle of the paddle for your riding conditions. Less experineced riders may create an unsafe condition using either of these devices. Its very easy to slip your throttle hand in a panic situation and rapidly accelerate, exaserbating an already dangerous condition.

I would be lost on my little day rides without my throttle rocker. But as it was noted, use caution at first until you are use to having it there and get the position correct.

Thanks!!!! I will look into the two different ones,,, I will look them up on the internet and see which one I would prefer. I saw a thing about cruise controls,,, but I'm thinking that might not be a good idea for a motorcycle,,four wheels yes,, two wheels no. I appreciate the feedback.

I haven't tried the Cramp Buster, but have used the Throttle Rocker for years. Like DakotaRider said, I wouldn't be without it. I was thinking about it this am as I rode into work because I noticed I need to get a new rubberband for it. I think they've changed the design slightly on the newer ones, but the one I have needs a rubber gasket under it to keep it in place. I got it because I changed to chrome grips & cannot ride in gloves without it, but it works so well for long trips that I got one for the 1800, too.
As others have said, be very careful with it until you get used to it. It will seem awkward at slow speeds & is very easy to throttle on unexpectedly.

Hey,, thanks for all the replies. I ordered the crampbuster with the wider shorter lever yesterday evening after talking to the guy who invented it. He told me he had invented the original throttle rocker and the guy who is selling the throttle rocker basically was licensed to sell his design. He said the other guy changed it from the original design to have the strap so that he would be legal to still sell them. I felt the owner of the company taking the time to explain all the different designs and the pros and cons of both designs( including cruise controls- pros and cons) was very re-assuring and the personal attention I received swayed me to buy the crampbuster. So I should see it in a few days and after I try it out I'll let everyone know what I think of it. Thanks again for leading me to the two companies!!!!!!!!!!!1
