Okay, first of all DeMan, this is what you said in another thread in response to someone giving you crap for doing 170 mph...

now I gotta say something. I may do what you deam as dangerous/foolish (its all relative) but I [expletive deleted] wear ALL my gear when I ride. And for your info, I dont even go down to textiles. Its a full leather race jacket, kevlar reinforced gloves, and of course my helmet. Never wear shorts, always wear jeans until I find a leather pant that I like. If I'm gonna do something that can seriously hurt me, I minimize the damage as much as possible.
Now, a friend of mine who is on another forum forwarded me these pics of a guy (supposedly on a GSXR - I can't tell) who crashed while going between 160-170 mph...take a look...the guy had FULL gear on...didn't do him much good. SLOW DOWN!!!!!

NOTE: THESE PICS ARE EXTREMELEY GRAPHIC

Uncle Bob, Louis...if you think they are too graphic, go ahead and delete...I just wanted to show DaMan that there's more to riding safely than gear!

EDIT: Deleted first pic as it was too graphic...

PM that first pic if you can.

I realize it's dangerous and thank you for pointing that out. I dont make a habit of going that fast, I just did it b/c i wanted to see how much I could push it. I can argue all kinds of things in regard to this, but I'll just leave it alone. I know I'm in the minority so I'm gonna stop a losing argument. Thanks for the reality check in crisp red.

DaMaNP750 . . . a few questions:

1) Is that squirrel doing a taste test?
2) If so, which beer won?
3) If not, how come no one's shot that squirrel yet, for screwing around with the beer?

[EDIT: With regards to the photos: I would call that a "Gut-Muffin," but there ain't enough there! Maybe "Street Pizza," eh, LayinLo?]

That is disgusting, but I must give thanks for the pictures. They chill your blood, and that's exactly what we need when we get too hotblooded.
PS 1) that seems like a country road, not a highway, so going fast on such a road is really insane.
2) gear will protect you somewhat at normal speeds, not when you fly into a barrel roll at over 100mph.

whether you do it all the time like an idiot..or just ONCE to see how fast you can "PUSH IT" it doesnt matter. All it takes is once. So i never do it.Fastest i go is 90-95mph on freeway with traffic and even then 95 is enough to do damage.

Man what were you thinking. Kidding ofcourse, lol.

Ive done the same as well.

I think its natural for us when we buy bikes like these to push it atleast once. I mean you have to know what your machine can really do. Same as when you buy a sled, or a car, or anything. You wanna see what its got. Just my opinion. I mean lets be honest, why did any of you buy the bikes you did to begin with? You cant tell me you bought a GSX-R 600/750/1000 whatever because you think its comfy, or cause its a nice cruiser. We all have to see what it feels like. Just my opinion.

Nasty Pics by the way. :x

I'm usually the cynic so.....

Why does one side of the road have a curb but the other side doesn't?

The light seems different....

I've never seen anything slide quite like that, things usually roll...maybe it was dragged off the road

The vegetation on each side of the road looks totally different

Where's all the blood?

I'm not saying it's not real but I'm not ready to believe that it is either....

Is there any kind of story or report to go with it?

Not everything rolls. I saw deer in the median of I-35 in Iowa at the end of a very very long red stripe. The deer was wearing full leathers too. Didn't help much. Now that I think about it though, it was probably trapped under the vehicle that hit it and dragged. Still pretty brutal.
You can try and minimize the risk of damage all you want. Bottom line is the faster you go the higher the risk of serious damage. I don't highway much.

Humm are you sure this guy didn't get hit or hit something to break apart like that. And why they hell did they drag and gather all the body parts together like that before the Cops and M.E. showed up??

Oh well we all make our choices and live our lives as we see fit, dealing with the consequences and aftermath is part of that.

Thats pretty bad, but from the looks of it there may be more to the accident than it looks. I see what looks like a full Alpinestar Suit, Arai helmet...............then a sneaker? Something makes me thing someone else was involved. No doubt though crashing at speeds at about 115 or higher, theres not much that can save you, let alone stop you from bursting into flames as you slide on the pavement.

Please PM me that first pic, I don't mind the goryness, it gives me inspiration to not screw around on my bike.

I was wondering about that too Soad, very rarely do you even get up to 160mph on the track. As Nut says, you get there then immediately decelerate for the next turn.
