thanks for taking those pics. Very useful for know what is in store once $300 is unloaded from the wallet.

I had a quick question, did you have to tap into anything to install, or is there a plug for it already? And I assume it lights up correct?

Thanks,

Yes you have to conect into the coils that are located on top of the engine which are a pain in the butt to get to. There is one bolt that the directions say to remove from the left coil so that you can attach the ground wire to it. Just that part took an hour to get at properly. You probably could ground it somewhere else easier but I wanted to put it where the directions said just in case I had problems they couldn't say I didn't follow the instructions properly. Other then that it is a fairly easy install and yes it does light up. Also all electrical connections use those quick taps that you clamp onto the wires.

Installed Cobra Tach

here is a pic of the Cobra C50 tach that I just installed on my bike.
No windshield issues.
The most difficult part was attaching a connector on the left side white coil wire, but that would be an issue, no matter what tach you have.

5th gear at 60 is about 1800 rpm (just loafing along)

Don't know if your Tach is set up right but with the Suzuki Tach at 65mph I'm turning 4000 rpm's and you can tell just buy the sound of the engine. Besides the engine normally idle's around 1200 rpm's.
You might want to check the connections out it might only be reading 1 cylinder.

Can you see the face of the Tach it looks like it is facing straight up, just curious.
