Well more exactly...is there any difference between the k3 and k4 models from the midpipe back? (if not the a 'k3' after market exhaust would be able to bolt on).

Is bolt/flange pattern the same?

If you're asking if a Yoshi slip-on pipe for an '03 gixxer will fit an '04 gixxer, than yes. I got a Yoshi slip-on for an '03 gixxer and it fit just fine on my '04 model. No problem at all.

My suggestion. I had put a Yoshimura Pipe on my Gixxer 750 2004 that was made for a 2003. Fit fine, I got a little bit more noise. But then I returned it for the proper one for the 2004. I first could hear the difference. They both Dyno'd out the same. The only difference was more sound. My opinion..I'm glad I got the one made for my bike.

I did check with the factory. I was told that it might not line up perfect. I notice all I needed to do with the 03 pipe was just move the pipe a bit when I put the screws in. No biggie at all. But the 04 pipe..it lined up perfect.

Is there much extra power to be had with a slip on over a bolt on? (Am very new to this, how my gixxer600 for 60kms now!)...just sussing out for after my run-in period.
By bolt-on do you mean a full exhaust? If so, you will gain much more horsepower by replacing the pipes all the way back (also lighten the bike to some degree.) A slip-on may be good for 0.5 - 3 hp.

I ordered my bolt on from this company, he has some of the best prices. When you order you also have the option of getting the can with a race baffle at no extra charge. Mine sounds great! :D
