Hello everyone! I'm new to this forum and have just purchased a 2005 C90T. It is beautiful!! It still has factory pipes on it and was wondering if anyone had recommendations. I'd like to put a pair on that isn't TOOOOO LOUD but ones that let you know I'm there! Look forward to reading through all the posts, comments and pictures everyone has posted on here... looks like a great site!

Thanks,
Chris

Welcome to the Forum!!

I have a 2005 C90 (Non-T version) and it currently has Cobra Speedster Longs with the baffles removed and Gman Gpops installed. It will sure get your attention with the proper application of tourque from your wrist, but not head throbing loud for all day riding. I like them to say the least.

Are you considering some sort of fuel processor to go along with your new pipes?

Thanks for the input... I've heard Cobra pipes are nice. Not sure about a fuel processor... what does that do for you? I'm really a bike newbie! Haven't riden for a long time... feels great to have a bike again!

a fuel processor is going to change your fuel air mixture from the factory setting to some other setting. overriding the factor computer adjustments.
this generally has the effect of making your bike run better. assuming you set it correctly.

my thoughts on them for cruisers are get one of the autotuning versions. a couple hundred extra 1 time fee. saves ya ever having to get someone to tune it for you. and adjusts when you go from sea level to 5000 feet ( like climbing I-5 out of L.A.)

otherwise there are prebuilt maps for various intake/exhaust combinations per bike that you'd download and copy to them via your computer. and some simply have adjustment dials or buttons to select preloaded maps.

the general consensus is it is not required ( but still helps) when only swapping pipes. but if you dink with your intake ( k&n filter, hypercharger, tornado....) you need one.

they'll run anywhere from $100 to $600 depending on what you choose.

powercommander 3/5 , cobra fi2000, bully fp, fuelpak you'll see all of these referred to in various mod lists.

they're fairly easy to install and a pretty common mod once ya get past things like seats and grips.

as for pipes. my suggestion is spend some time on youtube looking at vids. they'll give you a general idea of sound.
alot of aftermarket pipes have removable and repackable baffles to change the volume but it will change the sound too.

cobra, vance and hines, hard krome, cant really go wrong with any of them, but there are plenty of other good manufacturers out there.

Welcome to the forum and congrats on your new scoot! The C-90 is a great bike. When I had mine I had the Roadhouse 2 into 1 Classics on it. IMO they had a great sound. One that wasn't too loud. Too bad they went out of business. Plus one to what Slozomby says about going to youtube and listen to different sound clips. You may also want to visit a couple of your local bike nights to hear different pipes in person. The C-90 is pretty rare but you will see a few of them out there. Also, while this is a good forum there is another one dedicated to the LC1500/C90 http://forums.delphiforums.com/n/main.asp?webtag=RLCMC&nav=start You may want to check them out. Great advice from a good group of people with great collective knowledge of the bike. Good luck with your new scoot and ride safe!

Thanks everyone! I have been on YouTube and will probably spend a good amount of time on there.

Easy Rider - I'm sure I'll do just what you suggest... nothing at all for a while. Just ride and enjoy! Thank!

Be safe everyone!
