Fellas,

Thank you in advance for the help. My V Star is having some trouble at idle, when I start it up and let it warm up to operating temperature it seems like I have to keep hitting the throttle to keep it from dying out. I usually end up having to drive with the choke set a bit high so when I get to lights it doesn't die out. The guy I bought it from didn't drive it a lot so I'm assuming that it sat in the garage for a while. Just put a full tank of premium in and hopefully with some fresh gas it will help out a bit. Am I looking at just cleaning the carbs out or is there something that I am missing.

Thank You
Adam

Also note that it is NOT at all unusual to need the choke partly ON for a few minutes while it warms up.
If you are trying to turn the choke OFF immediately after starting, that might be 90% of the problem.
A low idle speed can make matters worse.

Have there been any mods to the pipes or air box/filter ??
