I have been reading about the Throttle Boss, Throttle Rocker, and Cramp Buster, and while they are all very similar, they are slightly different.

I would, very much, like your comments on which you like the best and why?

Thanks in advance,
ONB

Some are elongated and some are wider. It's really personal preference, but you'll get used to whichever you pick. I use a Cramp Buster (IIRC) and it's just fine.

Thanks Rowdy,

I think I would go with either the Throttle Rocker (simple Slip-On installation) or the Cramp Buster (Velcro Strap installation) as they are both larger than the Throttle Boss, which seems very small to do an effective job.

The Cramp buster also has both the narrow and wide versions.

BTW, How easy is it to get them set to the proper position?

Still standing by for more comments guys................

Easy is an understatement as to the adjusting of these things.

I've wanted to answer this thread at least twice now....The things just plain work. I'm sure with the Kury Throttle Boss, you have to have Kury grips. The other two....just plug and play.

I don't remember what brand I had on my last bike. But it just slipped over the throttle and that's it. Adjust it at an upward angle so when you are at cruising speed your wrist is flat. That's it...easy as pie! :)

That would be the Cramp Buster. It simply slips on the end of the throttle grip.

Now to measure my grip to see if I need the Small or the Large version. I assume it will be the smaller one.

Thanks Guys.........

I bought the Crampbuster last year - it's a definite improvement for longer rides. It is shorter and wider than some others I've seen. Held in place by friction in one direction (no velcro), so it's very easy to rotate it the opposite direction so the wrist-rest is out of the way. Just make sure you measure the diameter of your grip, as I believe they sell to different sizes.

On my V Strom I use the Kuryakyn universal throttle boss, it fits any size grips, and goes on and off in a few seconds. It's so easy to adjust, you could do it well riding, :shm: but I don't recomend it.

Do some research in the archives, I seem to recall an old member that called himself "ZUKIDUDE", that hooked up a cheep, and only slightly modified automotive cruise control on his M50. I think it was in the spring, (April maybe) of 06. If memory serves me right, he claimed it worked great, and was quite easy to install. I know the cruise control on my Road King is fantastic, but it would ba a real pain to try and make it fit a metric bike.

I've got the throttle boss. Just slips right over and adjusts in a second. Took a day or two to get used to, but after a hundred miles or so, it's a great thing to have.

I went ahead and ordered a pair of Throttle Rockers, one for each grip. Several have posted that it helps on the left side as well. Even if not, I will have an extra, just in case.

Now I just can't wait till the weather turns, so that I can try them out. Probably another 2 months till the roads are cleaned from the cinders and salt.

Oh well, in the meantime I will just have to get as much skiing in as I can to pass the time.
