Wire color question

Okay, it is probably the same as a C50, but what is the color scheme for the rear wiring on a Boulevard M50? I've seen the colors described for '04/'05 Volusia/C50s, but I'm not sure if these are correct. I ask because I'm going to be installing a Kuryakyn Run-Turn-Brake controller, and I'd like to be clear about what wires are what under the seat.

Any help would be appreciated!

Going from memory, since I just did my LED's,
Right side - Green is power for flashing signal and black is ground
Left side - Brown is power for flashing signal and black is ground.

but use a voltmeter after cutting wires to verify. put the black tester cable from the voltmeter onto the black wire of the signal and put the red tester cable onto the green wire and see the voltage. (positive). If you see a negative voltage, well then I was completely backwards with my statements above.

vhmike73, I just bought a Kuryakyn Run-Turn-Brake controller too. It hasn't come in the mail yet, but should be here soon...

I have the service manual and am looking at the wiring diagram. It looks like the right bulb, light green is the power wire and the left bulb, black is power with the black/white wire being a ground for both. The black/white wire on both turn signals and brake I follow on the diagram straight to the negative terminal on the battery.

It sounds like you will do yours before me. Let me know how it works out.

That's good to know it sounds like the same scheme they used on the Volusia/C50s
Brown---running light
Black with White stripe---ground
Black---left turn
Light Green---right turn
White Wire with Black stripe---brake light

Mocephus442 (just Mocephus here at Motorcycle-Journal) from the (MIG) Marauder Intruder Boulevard Group site posted the entire scan of the wire diagram from the service manual for the '05 M50...I'll attach the images below...these files are small, but I have them in a higher res, so email me if you would like.

As soon as the piece gets here from XtremeDave, I'll do the install and let you know how it goes!

Delay from KĂĽryakyn

According to XtremeDave, KĂĽryakyn has switched vendors and the Run-Turn-Brake controller is now delayed until MAY!! So...unless someone knows of a comparably priced device with the same features (I like that the Kury unit has a setting to flash the brake lights in the manner of the Back-Off unit built in), I'll be waiting a couple months. At least red Turn Signals aren't illegal! ;)

JD- Where did you order your part from?

I also ordered mine from Dave. I called him this am and he did say it was on backorder now. I checked other sights and Oneida said they have one in stock. So, I spent a little more but hopefully I'll get a controller soon.

Well then, it will be on YOU to share the experience of installing it!

Hopefully you'll get it and can install it soon- I'd like to know if it's going to be something I want to wait for, or search for another solution. (Perhaps the Badlands Illuminator Pro?)

I'll do it and let you know. I'm hoping it will be here Friday along with the red bulbs that XtremeDave said he could get to me by Friday. I'm excited about the install and think it will be a nice mod. I'll let you know.

P.S. $59.57 from OneidaSuzuki in stock.
$58.96 from Crusier Customizing in stock (west coast longer shipping)

This install went pretty easy and I think will get lots of attention.

When you turn the key the rear turn signals run full time just like the front turn siganls. The turn signal flashing function is still the same. When the brakes are applied the rear turn signals and the brake flashes 4 times before all go full bright.

I decided not to hook up the load equalizer because without it the turn signals (front and rear) flash very rapidly. I kinda like this. It's different and an attention getter.

One thing I couldn't figure out is that the hazards flash in the OFF position. But they don't flash in the ON position. Kuryakyn tech support had no idea. So, I said fu*k it. ON is now OFF and OFF is now ON.

This mod is worth the $60 IMO. I have a picture of the way I put it together and positioned it under the seat. When I tried to upload the picture it said it was too big. I'm at work and ain't got time to mess with it.
